Cultural, artisan and artistic presence of Dolores Hidalgo, CIN in San Miguel

On July 3-10, the “Dolores Hidalgo in San Miguel” exhibition can be viewed at Casa de Europa located in front of the San Francisco church, on San Francisco street in downtown San Miguel de Allende.

The magnificent hands of Dolores will give us their cultural richness in the color and creativity we so enjoy in wine tasting, fruit liqueurs and gastronomy, as well as display unique pieces of ceramic, basketry, leather, wood and other materials that highlight the creative beauty of our neighboring Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) for its historical legacy, the authenticity of its traditions, and the integrity of its Otomí culture.

You can visit this exhibition at Casa de Europa in San Miguel for free. It will be a unique opportunity to personally get to know traditional Otomí cooks who will offer diverse dishes from their indigenous kitchens such as la vitualla, a stew prepared for all family festivities and to commemorate religious events. In addition, complementary snacks made from corn will be offered daily at two separate times: from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Attendees will learn about the magnificent historical haciendas of Dolores Hidalgo, CIN, now auspicious settings for refined social events. We will also sample their famous and exquisite handmade ice cream in many exotic flavors including tequila, margarita, garambullo, tamarind, cheese and shortbread, pleasing to the gourmet palate of anyone who appreciates the natural and authentic as an exceptional and wonderful experience.

The birthplace of José Alfredo Jiménez will demonstrate its ample creativity with this vibrant exhibition of its cultural heritage in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende and at the IV National World Heritage Conference.
